Description | DCSBD plasma-assisted preparation of chitosan coated textile materials is reported. The cotated 50 gsm PP nonwoven were tested for its adsorption capacity toward copper ions Cu2+ and for its cytotoxic activity. Chitosan coated PP fabric exhibit approx 20% higher adsorption capacity comparing to the chitosan in its natural powder/flake form. The cytotoxic activity of chitosan coating is demonstrated. Nevertheless higher efficacy is obtained when known if cytotoxic metals such as Ag and Cu are adsorbed on the chitosan coating. |
