Description | Formalized phytosociological classification of geographically stratified relevés of trampled vegetation from the Czech Republic was performed using the Cocktail method. Delimitation of vegetation units recently identified in the traditional phytosociological system in the country was revised and finally eight associations (Herniarietum glabrae, Sagino procumbentis-Bryetum argentei, Poëtum annuae, Lolio perennis-Matricarietum suaveolentis, Matricario discoideae-Polygonetum arenastri, Eragrostio minoris-Polygonetum avicularis, Poo annuae-Coronopodetum squamati, Sclerochloo durae-Polygonetum arenastri) were defined by formal definitions. The concept of the class Polygono arenastri-Poëtea annuae including trampled vegetation dominated by therophytes was accepted in the new vegetation survey. The ecological differentiation of particular communities and their classification into phytosociological alliances within the class was illustrated using Ellenberg indicator values and indirect gradient analysis (DCA). The present classification of trampled vegetation was compared with national vegetation surveys in other European countries. |
