Description A new approach of the estimation of UVB radiation in maritime Antarctica is reported. The proposed nonlinear regression model of UVB radiation was described by a hyperbolic transmission function. The results and the model validation for J. G. Mendel Station within the period of 2006,2007 showed very good agreement with the measured values (R2=98.2%). The developed model was evaluated using daily doses of UVB radiation with respect to solar eleva-tion angle. The mean absolute relative prediction error (MAPE) ranged up to 5.2%.
