Description The author highly appresiates the task of the museum conservation, refers to the extent of collections stored in Czech museums and their,for the time being,not optimum physical state and tries to find reasons(neglect in the past period, poor or nonexistent collection works plans, etc.). He discusses the issue of mobility of collections that is sometimes obstructed by stricker requirements for the borrower than the level of depositories themselves. The author bevieves there is needlees prohibition of taking pictures at exhibitions in many Czech museums, which he demonstrates by an opposite approach in lots of prestigious museums abroad. He also impugns the importance of collecting special fees to allow taking pictures at exhibitions. In conclusion, the author deals with the conservator s position in Czech museums.
