Description	I will give an overview of formats for representation and processing mathematics (LaTeX, MathML, OpenMath, STeX) with their pros and cons. Representation of documents from retro-digital (scanned), retro-born (available in electronic form without full sources) and born-digital periods will be discussed and together with the processing towards searchable, printable and semantically indexable representation in the digital library. Issues of quality yet small and digitally signed multiple-layer PDF generation will be given particular attention.
