Description | Dendritic cells (DC) belong to antigen-presenting cells. Their main function is activation of helper and cytotoxic T-cells. DC are able to present tumour antigens and induce immune response of the body against the tumour. DC are sufficient for anticancer-vaccines preparation. In various experimental studies it has been proven, that DC cultured with different methods considerably differ in their properties. In recent years it was insisted on DC immune phenotype (CD80+, CD83+, CD86+, HLA-DR+ a CD14-). Currently, the ability of specific activation of Th1 helper T-cells and cytotoxic T-cells in mixed leukocyte culture seems to be critical. This ability is connected with production of interleukin 12 (IL-12) ,which supports anti-tumour immune response. On the contrary, production of IL-10, which suppresses T-cell activation, is unwanted. In this study we compared five different methods of DC production, sufficient for use in clinical studies. |
