Description In the article the position of an isolated language Ainu is discussed. As most promising is analyzed the idea of its inclusion into so called Austric language macro-phylum. There are almost 90 cognates covering the core parts of lexicon, i.e. pronouns, numerals, body parts, phenomena of nature etc.
