Description | Despite of the fact that Bohuslav Martinů teached a young Moravian composer Jan Novák only half a year, his impact on Novák's musical thinking lasted for a long years. This influence is particulary evident in Novák's production of 1950's, when the young composer created in Brno under the correspondence supervision of "padre" Martinů. With his decease in 1959 the apperent break occured in Novák's compositional thinking. This moment represents an end of his "Martinů period" demarcated by years 1947-1959, but there are much more analogies to be found in the lives of both composers. The fate of Bohuslav Martinů met Jan Novák in 1968, when he became an outlaw the ruling regime and exile composer until his death. |
