Description | The year 1968 meant the opening of space of non-Communist reformers with the goal of overcomming Communism as a system. One specific outcome was the formation of cores of new political parties standing outside the system; others included an attempt to "return to Europe". Husák's neostalinist policy of normalization" as expressed in the topic of federalization of Czechoslovakia began in late June and early July 1968 with a harsh rejection of any federal models based on European experiences and an singular focus on Soviet models of "federation". |
