| Description | The chapter introduces the results of extensive research carried out in 2003 and 2004 among flood victims from all affected regions of the Czech Republic. The results are based on data from 492 semistructured interviews with members of flooded households and concerns their views of the event and its impact. The main aim of the research is to identify the needs of the victims and the most effective forms of aid at each stage of the event, including the recovery stage. Special attention is paid to the psychological aspects of responses to the event, and to issues of psychosocial assistance. |
