Description | The twentieth century was marked not only due to two world wars, but also the two forms of totalitarian states, which had caused unprecedented amount of evil. Their common starting point was a worldview that emphasized the historical role of a group (class, nation), and which offered a set of standards that should lead to correct the world. Condition for a better future has been the requirement to accept the political domination throughout society, including the all life of society and individuals. State power penetrated everywhere, and claimed the whole person, his actions, his thoughts and his faith. The economy in both systems communism and Nazism was not the cradle of wealth and progress, but merely a tool to achieve broader political goals. An autonomous economic system has been subject to targeted political assignment, as progress and prosperity should continue to be achieved on the basis of political assignment. Both schemes were based on similar principles to influence running economy. This article aims to describe and compare two different paths to the State-Regulated economy. |
