Description	The main goal of this paper is to describe and analyse the role and the position of financial intermediaries (bank institutions in particular) in the Czech Republic in the years 2000 - 2008. The paper deals with bank intermediary activity, that is offer of free financial means to residents, which generates favourable conditions for economic growth.
