Description This article proves Sterns autorship of two drawings, until recently considered as unexecuted variations of the central scene of the Maulbertschs Apotheosis of Leopold von Egkh in the Feudal Hall of the Bishops Residence in Kroměříž, Allegory with Fides, Justitia and Pictura (Albertina, Wien) and Apotheosis with Saturn, Hercules and Fama (Ratjen Collection, National Gallery of Art, Washington). Both drawings were atributed by Monika Dachs in 2003 to the painter Josef Stern. As regards the first of both drawings, in accordance with final painting in the library of the Residence the drawings iconographic plan is revised and corrected (Doctrina, Justitia, Astronomia and Medicina). Another drawing from the Ratjen Collection is connected to the preserved written draft of the unexecuted painting in the Great Dining Room of the Castle Residence, ordered from Maulbertsch again in 1760.
