Description The study deals with individualization as the one of key characteristics of ancient Greek and Roman society. There are compared concepts of individuality in Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic period of Greek culture including civilization of Rome. There are analyzed factors affecting the process of individualization and consequences and dark sides, that were reflected and criticized from the part of society of that time. As the reaction to strong individualism of Late Antiquity return to communities connected with religious search takes place.
