Description The paper compares a future of unification and codification of private international law from a point of view of a beginning of 20th century and of today. In 1906 prof. Jan Krčmář published a book called The introduction to the private international law. There he was dealing with this topic in detail and he was critically writing about all the problems that impeded unification and codification of private law in his times. The paper comments his conclusions and compares them with the reality of today's international private law more than hundred years later.
