| Description | Emergency management in the Czech Republic is provided by regional operation and information centers operated by the Fire Brigade Rescue Corps of the Czech Republic. In two such regional centers, an analysis of information behavior of their operators was performed. Operators solve problems under specific conditions (time pressure, critical importance, etc.) and many aspects of their activity are formalized. However, it was revealed, that optimum performance is reached by creative combination of all available information sources including both formal and informal ones. Moreover, decisions are often informally consulted with other members of the rescue corps. Results of this research can be utilized for optimization of information systems used by the operators. |
