Description | The article deals with two anonymous letters, which were published as an appendix to the also anonymous print Obhajeni učení evanjelium svatého, which was in Halle in 1736. The language of the letters corresponds with the language of the Bible kralická, but both letters contain plenty of Czech-Silesian dialectal forms, supposedly because the letters are addressed to the author's evangelical-fellowmen from the Teschen Silesia. The language of Obhajení contains also plenty of Czech-Silesian dialectial forms and also Slovak and Polish forms. The confrontation of language of Obhajení and of the two letters implies that their author could be identical (maybe Georg Sarganek), perhaps using somebody else's help when translating Obhajení the other person (H. Milde?) being someone who has learnt the Slovak version of Middle Czech. |
