Description Brownfields revitalization and renaturalisation are currently very important issues in the Czech Republic, especially because of the intensive deindustrialization process started after 1989. The cities of Brno and Ostrava as many other large Czech cities with similar long-term industrial traditions development, has serious problems with the different kind of brownfields. The similar research in two big Czech cities in connection with different production orientation and present situation of issue yields interesting results creating possibilities to the comparisons and generalizations of the different approaches. This contribution uses human geographical methods and approaches first of all. The research was primarily focused on perception of the issue among Brno and Ostrava inhabitants and the contribution would like to identify how the group of the selected respondents perceive and evaluate the brownfields problems from perspective of their everyday experiences.
