Description | Tooth transposition is defined as the positional interchange of two neighboring teeth. Clinical management of transposed teeth comprises interceptive treatment with extraction of deciduous teeth and guiding the eruption of the transposed teeth into the normal position, alignment of teeth in their transposed positions, orthodontic tooth movement to the correct position and extraction of transposed tooth. In considering treatment alternatives, several factors should be taken into account tooth morphology, occlusal and aesthetical conditions, stage of development and position of transposed teeth, treatment time, treatment difficulty, risk of fenestrations and risk of root resorption. Case reports are in detail described and discussed. Supported by the project SVC No. 1M0528. |
