| Description | The aim of the present monograph is to offer a complex genre analysis of the work De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii by Martianus Capella in order to find the main unifying idea of the work. Such an analysis should also answer the question of the sense and purpose of the work. Together with an earlier publication, Docere et delectare, the publication completes the genre enquiry surrounding the Roman encyclopaedic educational literature. The monograph is provided with the index and the extended English abstract. |
