Description | Morphometric variability was studied in three monogenean parasites of Lepomis gibbosus in the Danube river basin. Urocleidus similis was the most frequent and prevalent gill parasite. Actnicoleidus recurvatus occurred only in Slovakia. In general, rare presence of U. dispar was found at all sampling sites. Spatial distribution of U. similis and A. recurvatus showed preference of the second gill arch, both parasite species preferred inner part of the gills, whilst U. similis were often recorded on outer surface and A. recurvatus on inner surface. |
