Description The presented study is aimed at the exploration of the relationship between academic procrastination and perfectionism. Procrastination is defined as an irrational but at once intentional postponement of a planned action. It is usually considered as a relatively stable and rather undesirable personality trait. Academic procrastination (i.e. procrastination among students) is introduced as one type of procrastination. We examined recent findings about procrastination and perfectionism. The research was carried out with the sample of 160 students (75,6% women and 24,4% men; mean age 22,99), who filled up the Procrastination Scale for Student Populations (Lay, 1986) and the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (Frost et al., 1990). Our results suggest that the relationship between procrastination and perfectionism is related only to some factors and dimensions of both constructs.
