Description Unfortunately, historical sources do not bring information on facts, when Přemysl Otakar II suffered chivalrous strike, but we know several situations, when king stood out as a creator of new knights, e.g. in 1260, when he was to knight 118 warriors after the battle of Groissenbrunn, in 1260 near the Prešpurk within the framework of wedding the king’s niece of Brandenburg and the son of Hungarian king and/or in 1273, when upon the conquest of Western Hungary, together with 50 other adepts was knighted king’s bastard son Mikuláš. By means of Czech, but especially of imperial sources we may reconstruct the king’s death in battle of Duerrenkrut on August 26, 1278 – one of the biggest and undoubtedly of even the most important battles taking place in Europe during the 13th century.
