Description The article deals with residences of the last members of the House of Rosenberg in the period of the Mannerism. It concentrates on Renaissance decoration of the residences at Český Krumlov, Bechyně, Třeboň, and on the villa (summer-house) at Kratochvíle, and compare them with similar objects of the castles at Rožmberk and Telč. The paper concludes that the artistic programme of the all residences focused on representation of the rightful qualities of the Rosenberg rulers presenting them in symbolical way as Christian knights combining the aspect of political authority with very important ethical dimension of the rulers virtue.
