Description The articles collected in this volume examine the cultural, artistic and intellectual relations between Russia and the West in a relatively short period, of the revolutions of 1917. It was around this time that Russia will live two very different experiences. Following the revolutionary movements of 1905, which gave the country a constitution and new freedoms, in addition to free censorship, Russia has experienced unprecedented rapprochement with the West. The events of 1917 and in particular the October Revolution will contribute to a radical reversal of trend by becoming Bolshevik countrie and the Soviet Union, Russia will gradually isolate themselves. This period will coincide for a large number of people, with the beginning of the dramatic phenomenon of emigration. It is around these key events that will focus the studies collected in this volume.
