| Description | The literaty work of the Norwegian author Sigrid Undset (1882–1949, Nobel Prize in 1928) has more than 80 years reception process in the Czech translation. The phases of the Czech reception on Undsetś historical novels prezent and dokument the development of the cultural, social and political changes in former Czechoslovakia and from 1993 in the Czech Republic. The habilitation theses “Two Horizonts” combines the analysis of Sigrid Undsets novels and the variety of cultural contexts of the historical genre in Scandinavia, other European countries and the U.S.A. The habilitation thesis argues for the wide Czech interest scala not only for Sigrid Undset’s work, but for the Norwegian literature and culture in the 20th century. |
