| Description | The letters of Count Jan Nepomuk Ugarte (1707–1756) addressed to his mother are a precious source documenting especially Moravian aristocratic environment on the turn of the 1730‘s and 1740‘s. This short study, aiming to draw attention to the potential of this source, concentrates on the year 1739 when Count Ugarte briefl y comments two signifi cant situations related to contemporary performances of opera in Moravia – in Questenberg‘s Jaroměřice and Rottal‘s Holešov. |
