| Description | The paper studies the history of the term "argot" in the Spanish linguistic tradition. In the first place, the acceptance and propagation is being studied, as well as its treatment in some key works of the 20th century Spanish linguistics. Authentic texts and examples are always included. The second part of the paper reflects the history of the term in the Spanish lexicography, mainly in the academic one. |
