Description | Measurement of trace amounts of heavy metals in liquid samples (solutions) using LIBS is demonstrated. The newly constructed modular apparatus for liquid samples analysis can be directly attached to the current experimental setup of single-pulse and double-pulse LIBS (SP and DP LIBS). The trace lead and copper detection in water solutions is discussed. Various Pb and Cu concentrations in the liquid samples have been measured and calibration curves were plotted. Electron density was calculated from H-alpha line in the measured spectrum. Differences in detection limits of SP and DP LIBS methods are compared. The detection of trace amount of copper in algae solutions is specifically emphasized. |
