| Description | Repetition, as a principle of organization of material, is the opposite of constant change. It becomes a moment of stability in a constantly changing stream of music. The principle of the loop is very old and is related to understanding the passage of time in general. In the 20th century technology penetrates the structuring of music that works with both linear and cyclic conception of sound. Methods of audio processing typical for recording media were then remediated with software tools in the new media environment. We will focus not only on the specifics of the resulting situation, but also on the process of developing of loops as a mental construct. |
