Description | Presentation is a sociological analysis of internal conflicts within the ISKCON movement. It argues that these conflicts are results of inner contradictions which were inbuilt into this tradition since its beginnings in the 19th century Bengal. It furthermore suggests that these contradictions are important parts of the tradition which made its acculturation in Western societies possible. |
