Description The aim of this article is to present a comparative analysis of linguistic sexism in Spanish and Czech languages. Although we can find some discriminatory significations in both languages in a similar measure, some structural differences can be observed on diverse linguistic levels, and these differences influence the perception of a generic discrimination. At the same time, we cannot consider these linguistic systems as sexist, because the observed phenomena always stem from a discriminatory language use, hence cultural stereotypes and social prejudices of extra-linguistic nature.
