Description | The workshop consists of 3 parts: 1) prof. Kern's (Princeton University) lecture on the topic Autorship in early China 2) reading texts on the topic: selected passages from the Songs of Chu (Li sao, Xi song), the Scribe's records (Shiji) and others. 3) discussion The topic of autorship in early China haas been relatively neglected in the past. Nowadays the questions of textual identity and social, political and cultural contexts of creation, function and use of the texts has been acknowledged as a crucial prerequisite for any serious research in early China. |
