Description c-Myb is a transcription factor that is essential for hematopoiesis and plays important role in formation of colon epithelium. Overexpression of c-Myb has been associated with oncogenic activity and poor prognosis of colon carcinoma patients. Mechanism how c-myb controls the colon tumorigenesis remains unclear. Our results show that overexpressed c-Myb significantly potentiated migration and invasiveness of cells CT26. We analysed secretome of CT26MYBup and control cells by 2-DE followed by LC-MS/MS analysis of differential protein spots. We found protein MIF and galectin-1 as a proteins differentially secreted from CT26MYBup and control cells. c-Myb can regulate tumorigenicity of cells by enhancing of migration and invasive activity, by secretion of MIF and galectin-1 and by imposing resistance of cells to chemoterapeutics.
