| Description | The main aim of the study was to describe the species richness and the structure of micro- and meiofauna assemblages in the Western Carpathians. A total of 183 taxa of micro- and meiofauna were collected. Testacea were the most taxa-rich and abundant with 115 taxa and 19 408 specimens. They were followed by monogonont rotifers (28 taxa). We found also species of Tardigrada, Oribatida, Ciliophora, Gastrotricha and Annelida involving some rare and interesting species. |
