| Description | Information education is already connected to the activities of libraries, mainly at universities. They, however, have to take into account new technologies and their use in society and they have to adopt new topics, which include a protection of privacy on the Internet. This chapter aims to support that privacy should be included in learning lessons and it offers some tips of its rendition. It seeks to achieve it by an approximation of what actually the privacy on the Internet involves, but also why this issue should be solved by both users and libraries. The answers to these questions support not only by references to legislation and strategic documents of libraries and information organizations focused on education, but also by examples of research in this area. In conclusion, the chapter outlines the different approaches, how can be the protection of privacy on the Internet part of everyday working of library and which ways can it include the topic in information literacy lessons. |
