11 innovated Doctoral degree study programmes (including specializations) were granted accreditation in November 2018. The programmes were modernized with the support of scholars from renowned universities abroad and incorporate international internships into the curricula. The programmes open in September 2019; 5 most distinguished first year students receive a scholarship for their internship with the assistance of Operational Programme Research, Development and Education.

The modern premises were created by reconstructing rooms in the basement of Building J, which formerly housed the faculty cafeteria Krmítko, and offer doctoral students quality facilities for their dissertation research. The construction and furnishing of the new rooms was funded by the MUNI4PhD project.
