Open Day 2024: See what it looked like here
The traditional special open day took place on Saturday, 19 October, and was attended by approximately 540 applicants.
After long months of social distance, there is still a deficit of informal meetings, and there is not much time for them during the semester. That is why the faculty management has organised a new event for the employees with the slightly exaggerated name "afternoon matinee" and the slogan "faculty to self".
The event took place in the main faculty courtyard on Monday 27 June. The opening included, in addition to the Dean's opening remarks and a toast, a musical performance by the men's choir Láska opravdivá (True Love). Those present could refresh themselves not only with beer from the Thrills Brewery from Velké Pavlovice or wine from the Vašíček Winery from Prušánky, but also with various sweet and savory delicacies from their own production. Afterward, guided tours of the library warehouses with a deposit of old prints and the fallout shelter were prepared for those interested. Competitive individuals could even take part in an escape game inside. Out of the three teams that entered, the Girls from the Office for Studies (Holky ze studijního) eventually won, and we would like to congratulate them once again! Those who were interested could also try out the emergency exit from the shelter right in the courtyard, where there was a librarians' stand with virtual reality, a placemaker, and other sports and creative activities. In the cinema room, there was a premiere of a documentary film on the occasion of Prof. Miloš Štědron's 80th birthday, and two floors up, those interested could see the exhibition Klamárium with a guided tour. Other musical performances helped to complete the relaxed atmosphere: prof. Marek Blatný played with his band Bixley in the courtyard, doc. Radim Brázda, alias Bufet Klarinet, performed in the auditorium A11. Thank you all very much for your participation and we look forward to the next matinee next year!
