The traditional special open day took place on Saturday, 19 October, and was attended by approximately 540 applicants.
He participated in the opening ceremony of the international Japanology conference Iaponica Brunensia. He also presented a book donation from the Nippon Foundation to the faculty representatives as part of the Read Japan Project.
According to Marek Mikeš from the Department of Japanese Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, teachers and students have obtained many key Japanology books. This is also confirmed by Jiří Matela, who believes that the book donation will help enrich the research possibilities of the department. "We are extremely pleased with the long-standing explicit favour and support of the Embassy of Japan in the Czech Republic and His Excellency Ambassador Suzuki, as it contributes to developing the reputation of Brno Japanese studies. At the same time, it obliges us to develop the quality of our work continuously," added Matela.
Ambassador Suzuki presented books on Japan to selected universities as part of the Read Japan Project managed by the Japanese Nippon Foundation. In addition to Masaryk University, book donations were also given to Palacký University and the University of West Bohemia.
