Open Day 2024: See what it looked like here
The traditional special open day took place on Saturday, 19 October, and was attended by approximately 540 applicants.
We even exceeded last year's number by two postcards. Students from the Mission of Hope association delivered Christmas cards to 14 homes for the elderly in Brno. We thank them and all of you who participated in the project!
This year, the faculty's management decided to join the charity project Smile into a Mailbox, which aims to support clients in homes for the elderly by sending them encouraging postcards. It was initiated during the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic by students who were connected across the faculties of Masaryk University by the Mission of Hope association. Last year we collected 721 Christmas cards together, this year we even exceeded that number by two cards.
Volunteers from the Mission of Hope delivered all of these cards to 14 homes in Brno, where they will bring joy to seniors who no longer have anyone to send them a Christmas card. A big thank you not only to the Mission of Hope, but also to all of you who took part in the project. We were especially pleased with the initiative of the Cyril and Methodius Grammar School in Brno, one of the faculty schools, where students and teachers decided to join the project and collected more than 50 cards.
The Faculty of Arts is one of the founding faculties of our university and since its beginnings, it has represented what is the human in people. Together, you all proved that this is still the case. We appreciate it very much and wish you a true time of generosity!
