The aim of the submitted project is the analysis of the Moravian Catholicism development in the 20th century, based on various topics, e.g. the development of Church institutions, demographic or socio-religious development, political Catholicism, Catholi c culture, especially literature, popular piety. An overall view on these issues will be offered. Moravian Catholicism represents an important religious, cultural and social phenomenon determining certain specific features of Moravia within the Czech lan ds to a considerable extent. It also influences different political and cultural patterns of the Moravian region.1-Iowever, so far we have lacked a complex view on these issues. Moreover, after 1945 we have not had a sufficient number of partial studies. Two volumes of conference proceedings and a monograph of the same title will be published as this project output. They will be based on interdisciplinary approach (historical, political, sociological, theological) with an emphasis on historical method.
