The Eduard Čech Center for Algebra and Geometry offers an institutional background for long-term post-doc positions, lecture series and research stays of world leading experts as well as direct cooperation of Czech and foreign institutions.
The cooperation will focus on synergy of algebraic and geometric approaches to the research in the areas of differential geometry, geometric analysis, category theory, algebraic topology, algebraic number theory, cryptology, and computational complexity, including impacts in mathematical informatics and mathematical physics.

In order to achieve the above aims, the Center will open international competition for the new positions. Further, the Workgroups will introduce shorter stays and lecture series of reknown experts designed for the young staff. The existing seminars organized jointly by Vienna, Prague and Brno will be extended and the young researchers will be sent to reasonable stays abroad. The goals include direct cooperation with European structures and networks. All activities of the Center will be governed and controlled by an international Steering Committee with majority of representatives of reknown foreign institutions.

Main subjects of study include: Parabolic geometries, Cartan connections, invariant operators, homotopy, Quillen category, cohomology, divisor class group, syntactic semiring, Lie algebra representations, module homomorphisms, multiplicative loops, autentification scheme, selfcorrecting code, proof complexity.
