The investigation can be defined as an analysis of selected characteristics of the radical environmental
movement in the Czech Republic that will answer the question as to whether these movements are dogmatic
and extremist. The analysis will be based in particular on analysing texts by these movements and comparing
them with texts by obviously neo-fundamentalist movements. To confirm the results of our methods, we will
use in-depth interviews with selected leading representatives of all the movements under scrutiny. The basic
methods of textual analysis will include quantitative content analysis on the one hand and mid-range qualitative
textual analysis on the other. The inquiry will answer the question as to whether Czech radical environ.
movements exhibit extremist and neo-fundamentalist value-dogmatism, in an attempt to redefine extremism
without following on from the existing academic and collective definitions and finally, proposing a new
methodology of determining the level of extremism in anti-system movements. A monograph on the subject
will be the project’s tangible output.
