Keywords
diagnostic instrument, responsive website platform, conceptions of geography teaching

The project aims to develop a diagnostic instrument based on a responsive website platform that will enable pre-service and in-service geography teachers to identify their conceptions of geography teaching and that subsequently will provide them with feedback and recommendations for improving their geography teaching. The instrument uses a validated typology of geography teaching. The instrument responds to the low and unsatisfying quality of geography education in Czechia, and to the low image of geography perceived by Czech pupils (CSI, 2019). The main outcomes of the project will be (a) the responsive website enabling online self-diagnosis of conceptions and providing recommendations for improvement, (b) a research report, c) a series of workshops aimed at geography teachers.
