Description | Comparing translations of texts of a similar kind for EU institutions and national institutions, the paper proves that the frequency and distribution of shifts (both semantic and syntactic) in EU translation and non-EU translation is significantly different. Shifts in EU translations are scarcer. The findings suggest that different norms apply in EU translation. |
