Citation
Description Media texts can be analyzed and interpreted from different theoretical resources using different methodological tools. The starting theoretical frameworks of qualitative research and the associated methodological tools, and in the wider context, individual communication competencies, including items like faith or prejudices, determine and define how to interpret media texts. The postmodern concept of social reality as a product of narrative activities and narratology analysis represent promising interpretative models and keys to media texts. The aim of the study is to explain – from this viewpoint – the starting points and methodics of interpretation of static visual image texts – photos, art paintings, illustrations, posters that have become basic tools of teaching in textbooks or data-video presentation.
