Description At the workshop, the Swedish labour market experts Tord Strannefors and Jan Sundqvist presented "occupational barometer", not focusing only on its output, but also on data necessary for its functioning. Furthermore, they described the benefits of this barometer for counselling and matching processes within public employment services as well as planning of the labour market programs. Then a specialist of the project "Active matching" Josef Horňáček presented data collection methods and initial findings on employers' requirements on workforce in the Czech regional labour market. In conclusion, he reported about further steps in the project, the creation of profession cards, assessing the functionality of this type of investigation in the labour market and the creation of certified methodology. He also opened a debate on the use of competencies in matching and counselling activities in the labour market. The last item on the workshop agenda was the presentation of one of interviewers, the labour officer Helena Vlková, on "Evaluation of Active Matching" which summed up the experience with the questioning of employers and the pros and cons of this investigation from the point of view of a local Employment Office. The discussion at the end of the workshop primarily focused on the role of the Employment Office and work with jobseekers, but also on cooperation with employers as important clients of the public employment services.
