Description This study will analyze materials used for EFL teaching in the Czech Republic and El Salvador. More concretely, it will focus on coursebooks. The content of two coursebooks, each used in its respective country will be analyzed. The main aim will put emphasis on cultural elements reflected in the book content. Both coursebooks are considered among the most widely used in both countries. Content Analysis, a research technique ideal to make valid inferences from text and also to make deep analysis of content, will be used. The fact that the author is a student from El Salvador studying in the Czech Republic provides availability of two different cultures and two different approaches for language teaching and some background for inquiry.
