Description | The conference about general problems of interpretation. The papers "About Ingarden's "concretization", a note on p. 334" was presented. The concept concretization is postulated for phenomenon interpretation in Ingarden's theory of artistic literary works. However, the potential problem become apparent in footnote on p. 334 in Ingarden's mainly work Literary Work of Art. The problem originates from his conviction is that "with literary work can be aesthetically operate only in one form of concretization." The potential problem lies in the fact that if a concretization is the only possible way how to get to know a work, there is no possibility how to grasp the work itself because we can never know what to grasp at all. An this seems to be a kind of paradox: to identify a text, we have to read it; to read the text is to concretizate it; but how to such a business when we never know what a text to identify? Any ways seems to be closed. The aim of the contribution is to explore if Ingarden's solution of this problem is sufficient, or whether he introduces a kind of epistemological agnosticism. |
