Description | During the last year of the world war, Alois Hába became an employee of the Music History Center and he took part in a project for the compiling of the songs of the monarchy's soldiers for a collection that was under preparation. The project was not completed, and most of the collection was lost after the war ended and during the years that followed. A torso of the portion of the collection that Hába was responsible for compiling and editing has been discovered in composer‘s estate, which is in private hands and has not yet been sorted. The study reports on the discovery and summarizes the history of the project for collecting the songs. |
